About Paulina

Paulina Barahona is a Psychologist, she is the Clinical Director at Parentline- University of San Francisco- where she is also a visiting professor. She is a trained therapist in both Brief Therapy for adults and family therapy.

Paulina received both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Psychology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. From 2012 to 2016 Paulina resided in San Francisco, CA with her family. She studied both Brief Therapy and Family Therapy at the Mental Research Institute, Palo Alto; the world´s wellspring of such therapeutic models.  Furthermore, she studied under renowned psychologists like Jeffrey Zeig, Carol Erickson, Michael Hoyt, amongst others.

Paulina has dedicated most of her professional life to nonprofit community service projects. In San Francisco she assisted families of children hospitalized in intensive care and worked with immigrant families as well as women. In addition, Paulina helped found Parentline USF in 2015, a training program for doctoral psychology students from the University of San Francisco that provides free counseling services for parents of children from pregnancy to 3 years of age. Since that time, she’s been both Clinical Director as well as Supervisor at Parentline. Ever since 2016, Paulina has been a visiting professor at the Clinical Psychology PsyD program at the University of San Francisco.  

 

Paulina currently lives in Mexico City where she has her private practice.  She provides brief individual therapy for adults and families with young children.
